Aura Gallery Taipei is happy to celebrate its second anniversary this April, and it announces its upcoming exhibition "The Essence of Things" opening on April 16.
“The Essence of Things” starts from still life to recommend seemingly ordinary and simple works with noble vision and sublime feelings. Things are what we use to measure our life experience, or by which artists used to define themselves, the way they indicate who they are or not. Ordinary still things if harmoniously arranged in the way of pursuit, they represent the profound and subtle aesthetics of these artists, thus they convey the hidden dimensions differ from artist to artist through their illuminating insight. Artists included in this exhibition are Yin Zhaoyang, Tan Jun, Araki Nobuyoshi, Roger Ballen, Shoji Ueda, Wang Yiwei, Wang Quanlun, Zhong Jiangze and You Li.

The new catalogue of Tan Jun "Slight Object" and the inaugural collected writings by Yin Zhaoyang "Yin Zhaoyang on Paintings" will be published by Aura Gallery Taipei along the exhibition.
