Chen Zhuo’s solo exhibition “The Absurd Paean to You” is opening at Hwas’ Gallery on November 11, 2015, jointly organized by Gallery Yang and Hwas' Gallery, going through to December 12, 2015. From Chen Zhuo’s first solo exhibition “One Petal One World” (2011) to “My Loneliness is a Garden” (2012), and “Aura” (2015), during this period, the artist has continuously groped, and broken through in his creation, while the screens and colors were increasingly simplified, and the structure was also adjusted.

The solo exhibition “The Absurd Paean to You” will present a series of oil paintings created by the artist in 2015, and it invites the director Li Xuan to create a video work entitled “Morti – Bing” based on this series. In the works, the artist uses a sad and absurd expressive way to capture the real appearance of the spirit and feelings of contemporary young people.
About the artist
Chen Zhuo was born in Beijing in 1986, graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, CAFA with a bachelor’s degree in 2008, and graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, CAFA with a master’s degree in 2011, currently living and working in Beijing. The solo exhibitions include “Aura” (Gallery Yang, Beijing, China, 2015), “My Loneliness is a Garden” (Gallery Yang, Beijing, China, 2012), “One Petal One World” (Gallery Yang, Beijing, China, 2011) and attended group exhibitions held by JJ Joong Jung Gallery (Korea), Bangkok Tang Contemporary Art Center, Linda Gallery, Ruiju Hotel, Beijing Center for the Arts, Star Gallery, and so on.
