On July 16, 2015, Huang Yong’s solo exhibition “Food Game” kicked off in the Stacker Foundation, Berlin. The exhibition was jointly hosted by the Institute of Arts Administration and Education at CAFA and School of Culture and Media Management, organized by Shanghai New Art Museum, Prof. Yu Ding, Dean of Institute of Arts Administration and Education at CAFA and Prof. Klaus Siebenhaar, Director of School of Culture and Media Management of Berlin Freedom University respectively serve as the curator and academic chair.

In the exhibition, Huang Yong continues the combination of pastels and rice paper during the creation, through the form of “poker” to depict the 54 playing cards, presenting a dish in each one, the 54 poker cards constitute a complete work entitled “Food Game”. In the opening ceremony, the curator invited the professional dealer of a Las Vegas casino to display a casino game table and the poker factory from Las Vegas specially produced the poker derivatives for Huang Yong’s “Food Game”, so that the audience and guests who are at present at the exhibition can both appreciate the “works of poker” and play Texas poker, which has been a major part of the solo exhibition “Food Game” - painting and concept, art performance are mutually blended, dialogue and collision was brewing in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.

The exhibition is unfolded in the form of intercollegiate exchanges and cooperation and supported by the German foundation and Shanghai New Art Museum, attracting and bringing together many honored guests in a variety of fields from China and Germany and art lovers. Chen Ping, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the P.R.China in the Federal Republic of Germany and Jurgen Stacker, Chairman of the board of directors of Stacker Foundation, Cai Ling, Vice President of the Confucius Institute in Hanover, Prof. Klaus Siebenhaar, Director of School of Culture and Media Management of Berlin Freedom University, Prof. Yu Ding, Dean of the Institute of Arts Administration and Education at CAFA, Yu Heng, Chairman of German Dufa Paint Co., Ltd in China attended the opening ceremony and respectively gave a speech.

When the artist Huang Yong talked about the work, he said the reason why he drew food on the cards was that these foods were taken from current dining tables in China, perfectly reflecting the actual life and state of the matter. On the other hand, when we constantly supply materials, we should also consider the corresponding spiritual supply. Perhaps the artists were not able to solve these problems but at least we can put forward the question.

The exhibition will continue to August 16.
