12 Poster of Times Youth – Young Artists Program 2015 Up-Youth China Young Artists Exhibition 2015

Sponsored by the Beijing Times Art Museum, Times Youth – Young Artists Program initially started in 2014, to focus on the different ways of exploring art by the most creative artists who were born in the “1970s”, “1980s”, “1990s”, all attempt to present relatively clear characteristics of the times for young artist groups.

Today, the complex and diversified characteristics of the times where we live, have penetrated into the various tiny corners of life and art, it is impossible to use “trend”, “style”, or “spirit of the times” to summarize art creation any more. The in-depth observation of each unique way of creation has become a necessary element for research and exploration of the general from each creation of a work of art, changing the social value of personal art work which is undoubtedly one of the major academic issues faced by museums.

As a young private art museum, through time we grow up together along with young artists. In facing this generation, questioning this generation on art, thus constantly we make our voice heard. The museum selected the artists and works through the network which called for submissions, nomination by curators and recommendations by partners which resulted in an academic combing through of the artists and discussion on the issue of creative ontology, while it also promotes the independent participation of young artists, creating an opportunity for exchange and cooperation between the artists and art museums, curators, galleries, media, so that they can make their voice heard and develop on the young art stage of the Times Art Museum, leaving the rich creative cases of artists of the time to research.

Curatorial Themes and the Artists:

Hand and Heart Form

"I am tired of the grand sense of form, this is an impalpable concept in recent years, so I prefer to savor the small, quiet works, which are in need of patient reading. In this era the concept takes first place, the exhibition places stress on the role of the hand, emphasizing painting, a modeling sense again, in order to describe the reciprocation between hand and heart, thus emphasizing the pleasure of painting," said Wu Hongliang.

Artists:

Geng Xue, Jin Nv, Kanazawa Yona, Julia Weller, Li Xi, Qian Liang, Song Kun, Tan Tan, Wang Lei, Wang Lijun, Wu Jianan, Yan Cong, Yang Min

Polymeric Form

"I have found that more and more young artists use the diverse, scattered, unlimited spread of comprehensive and a converged style in their creation. Such form of creation is neither an integrated unity, nor an opposing and divided structure, but it is a reticulation which focuses on the “rhizosphere” relationship, from the creative tendency of the young artists while also displaying their individual characteristics, it seems that we see some“tuber” thinking embodying and extending the art, "said Hu Bin.

Nominated Artists:

Cai Yuanhe, Cai Zebin, Guo Lijun, He Lixiao, Hu Cheng, Huang Chunfeng, Huang Liyan, Li GuoJie, Liu Yin, Wang Zilu, Xie Zhengli, Yang Mushi, Zhang Wenchao

Multiple Enzymes Forms

"There is a group of artists who believe that “give me a seed, I can evolve an universe”, but they have been ignored consciously or unconsciously. Although the group consists in a large number of people, they create exquisite and rich works, in varied personal art forms, but because of the richness of the works and the singularity of each personal world, the audience find it difficult to explain and analyze. So, I hope with the emphasis on “organic characteristic”, there is a prompt for the creative characteristics of this kind of artist," said Liu Libin

Artists:

Dai Xueqing, Li Linlin, Li Quanshan, Li Yang Paints Dream, Luo Yueming, Pan Ran, Qin Zhen, Sun Jiaona, Xie Kun, Zhang Lei, Zhang Li, Zhao Miaomiao, Zhou Chunlei
