The Chinese Academy of Oil Painting affiliated to the China National Academy of Arts is about to present the renowned Chinese oil painter Tuomusi’s solo exhibition, the exhibition will open at 3 pm on May 23, 2015, going through to June 7, 2015. It is synchronously presented at the Art Museum of Chinese Academy of Oil Painting with the Exhibition Hall of Chinese Academy of Oil Painting, featuring the selected works created in different periods by the artist, including 120 oil paintings (Art Museum), 100 drawings and 100 landscape sketches (Exhibition Hall).

Tuomusi is of Mongolian heritage, in the depths of his life there are Mongolian characteristics – sunny disposition, outgoing, cheerful, sharp, persistent, and aggressive which are obviously the characters cultivated by the sunshine of Inner Mongolian plateau and the open land. The quality of painting is the mirror of these moral qualities, the presentation of painting is determined by the mental attitude of the creator behind the image. Tuomusi spends more than half a lifetime in sublimation and expression of himself with the use of bright colors. He has been always attached great importance to the depiction of simplicity, created a resounding high profile in oil painting art. Viewing the work by Tuomusi, it seems to listen to the prairie's soprano, which has a fluent and high penetrating power. Tuomusi especially attaches importance to the Oriental aesthetics and the national psychology of an Easterner and a Mongolian who is engaged inWestern oil painting. Never following a trend, he does neither simply present the Western model nor copy from nature. He emphasizes the emotional expression of pictorial realities and skillfully removes the practice of sketching. The artist directly faces the landscape to draw and create, to pursue the color relationships of the painting and the artistic conception of lyricism.

The form of language is never the terminal for Tuomusi while he eventually makes all the things return to the essence of art: using art to express true feelings. His art is his life, it has never been distant from the practical experiences in the Inner Mongolian grassland, the men and nature of the grassland nourish his artistic life, which has become the driving force and spiritual kernel of his artistic exploration. Now Tuomusi has already achieved success and won recognition, as he created outstanding works and his students are located around the world. Although he is more than 70 years old, the artist never stops drawing, combining Chinese carvings of the Han and Wei Dynasties with abstract factors of Western painting, continuing the exploration with the accumulation of his life and sincerity to art.
