“Exhibition of the Selected Works by the Ethnic Minority Young Artists in Western China” grandly opened at Yan Huang Art Museum

Hosted by the Personnel Department of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, China Artists Association, Minzu University of China, organized by the Exhibition Department of the China Artists Association, the College of Art, Minzu University of China, “Exhibition of the Selected Works by the Ethnic Minority Young Artists in Western China” grandly opened at Yan Huang Art Museum on the afternoon of December 26. Wu Changjiang, Party Secretary of China Artists Association and Vice Chairman, Yin Huili, Vice President of Minzu University of China, Du Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of China Artists Association, Cui Xiaodong, Director of Yan Huang Art Museum, Xue Changxu, Division Chief of the Training Office at the Personnel Department of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Han Zhengang, Vice President of the College of Fine Arts, Capital Normal University, Zhang Shuguang, Professional Teacher in charge of the Senior Training Class at the College of Art, Minzu University of China, and other leaders, honored guests, representatives of the ethnic minority young artists, more than 20 media representatives as well as the people from all walks of life attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

In order to promote the artistic development of western China, to cultivate ethnic minority creative artistic talents, to develop the artistic creation of the minority areas of western China, since 2011, according to the central leadership’s important instruction, supported by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Minzu University of China and Capital Normal University, China Artists Association organizes and implements the “Training and Development Plan of the Minority Art Talents of Western China”, to cultivate the potential of young artists in western China and the ethnic minority areas, to promote the innovation and practice of ethnic art as a subject, building on the existing mechanism and platform to cultivate the ethnic minority art creative talents.

This exhibition is the collective presentation of the fruitful creative results of the ethnic minority young artists in western China that graduated after three sessions in the senior training class. The exhibition selects 170 excellent works, including traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, watercolor paintings, illustrations. The exhibited works have a rich content, various forms, distinct personalities, deep academic quality, an high artistic standard, with strong ethnic characteristics of the time, showcasing the fine creative status and future development potential of the trainees. Some of the students have come to the fore, participating in major exhibitions across the country, and 12 trainees’ works are selected by “The 12th National Art Exhibition”.
