On the afternoon of October 22, 2014, Asia Design Management launched a press conference in the lecture hall of the School of Design, CAFA in Beijing. Wang Min, Chairman of Asia Design Management, Dean of the School of Design, CAFA, and Dr. Hai Jun, Secretary-General of Asia Design Management, Director of National Design Manage Research Center at CAFA as well as Guo Yu, founder of JIAE.COM, respectively introduced the basic situation of the organization framework, positioning, mission, and the guests invited by the Asia Design Management as well as Lifestyle Design Fair. Asian Design Management 2014 which is scheduled to be held in the World Trade Center, Hangzhou from November 6 to November 9.

Asian Design Management was initiated and founded by Professor Wang Min and Dr. Hai Jun, which receives strong support from Hangzhou Municipal Government and CAFA, which aims to build a platform for global innovators to participate in the interaction, sharing and collaboration on the basis of Asia; Based on the research and practice resources of global design management, to construct a variety of sharable platforms including forum, research, exhibition, award; Focus is placed on advanced projects, research, methods, strategies and trends in the innovative field; Asian Design Management itself serves as both the observer and platform of design and innovative trend, and the participant, practitioner and promoter of society, city, industry and lifestyle innovation.

Professor Wang Min said design did not only beautify something, but also offers an innovative thinking mode, to drive the upgrading of enterprise industrial. At present Chinese design industry is huge, it was necessary that through the study of design it can drive the industrial innovation, urban innovation and lifestyle innovation which was also the purpose of Asia Design Management.

At present, the forum is busy in preparation, striving to be more integrative, systematical, innovative and forward-looking. Dr. Hai Jun briefly introduced the situation to the invited guests at the conference, and it invites more diverse and professional guests of the year, there will be more than 60 domestic and international speakers invited to share their knowledge and experience in the field of design management. Asia Design Management will set 9 key forums around the “experience”, “fashion” and “entrepreneurship”: two opening and closing forums of masters will gather international reputed design masters from a variety of fields; 6 professional forums including Product Design Management, Brand Design Management, Experimental Design Management, Fashion Design Management, Architecture Design Management, inviting design masters from various fields to participate in the conversation; specially establishing the “Design Entrepreneurial Forum”, so that some young designers who have ideals can talk directly with the masters, to learn how to finish a design creation.

In addition, 2014 Asia Design Management will also release a new unit “Lifestyle Design Fair”, and it will be synchronously held at Hall 1 of World Trade International Exhibition Center in Hangzhou on November 6 going through to November 9.It is themed on the “Lifestyle Design Fair” and “Before/After”, to show the experience around “l(fā)ifestyle design”.
