The paints of Shen Shubin's works are full of worries of these issues: traditional and contemporary tangled, crony capitalism, the middle class insecurity, ecological crisis... among these problems, some are unique to China, some are those all the human are facing and thinking globally.

He foresees the devastated pictures in the future, to warn the current people. In those pictures, the desire is exposed in the tracks of material competition, never stopped, nor to seek alternatives to obtain the physical and mental pleasure. In this stage, people succumb to a single value, the independence and self-confidence were lost, the basic common sense is forgotten: happiness is diverse, everyone is free to find and create their own ways. This is true sorrow and ignorance.
