Reporting Exhibition of the Ceramics Materials Course from the 4th Studio of the Department of Sculpture, CAFA, was inaugurated at the Channel Gallery in the Department of Sculpture, CAFA, and the exhibition will last until November 16th.

The course ran from October 2nd to November 3rd, led by Prof. Lv Pinchang, Director of the 4th Studio of the Department of Sculpture, CAFA, together with 6 students from the 4th studio, had an in-depth study and creative workshop in ceramics at Jingdezhen. Students remained highly motivated on the course and had many ideas and expectations for their creative programs and modes. At the beginning of the course, Prof. Lv Pinchang introduced the rich resources and comfortable conditions of Jingdezhen in detail with slides, and organized students to visit and study the seniors’ works. After a detailed understanding of the course, students put themselves into programs to create, while Prof. Lv Pinchang gave every student on the program advice and encouragement.

During the days of creativity and study in Jingdezhen, students were busy with their creations, thinking deeply about their creations, and improved it during the productions to make their works perfect and more mature. During the learning process, they had a lot of tests and research into the characteristics of mud and glaze, as well as the way of firing, although they sometimes failed, they had been working continuously hard for the perfect effect for their works, and gained valuable experiences. Meanwhile, students had fabulous extra-curricular activities, and they saw lots of delicate porcelain in the creative weekly market. When the return date approached, students works were gradually baked, they stayed up all night in order to return to school for the deadline, and avoided delaying the next course. Loving the course, each student were over fulfilled by their tasks.To achieve a better exhibition effect, students from the 4th Studio of the department of Sculpture had a discussion on how to exhibit before the exhibition, as well as selecting exhibition works. The exhibition was officially opened, welcoming all walks of life.
