Post Refined Joy: Wang Huangsheng Art Exhibition is composed of three parts. The first part is his "Moving Visions" series (2010-2012) which are his latest works created after he was transferred to Beijing. Different from his previous figurative paintings, this series tends to be abstract but is endowed with the charming beauty of ink and brush. Moreover, he has highlighted the numerous and diverse mental phenomena of the contemporary in his persisting pursuit of the modern visual scene. “A variety of lines freely wander in an unrestrained stretch; clues are combined with ink sparks, water stains through in a richly multi-layer way; his image tends to be abstract with a rich sense of form. He called them ‘moving visions’ which can be taken as the extension of the theme in ‘Heaven and Earth’ as he persists in his exploration of the relationship between heaven, earth and humans, the romantic and uncontrolled freedom people enjoy in their own space, the numerous and confused mental imagery wrapped into life and so on.” Prof. Pan Gongkai said, “These are Wang’s new attempts in creations.” The second part is his "Heaven and Earth" series (1995-2006). Borrowing some traditional Chinese imagery symbols, Wang employs the sincere and pure texture of black and white, distinctively modern style of composition to highlight this harmonious unity among heaven, earth and people, flowing time and space as well as the internal and external environment. The third part "Leisure" series (1996-2012) focused on his freehand work of flowers created around 2000. With a bold and skillful command of colors and ink, this series features a vigorous and imaginative composition, reckless and wide which is naturally embodied in his temperament.
