Born in 1957 at the County of Da Cheng, Hebei Province
1982 graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Hebei Normal University and remained on the university staff
1984 studied at the Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts
1999 transferred to the Department of Fine Arts, the Capital Normal University
Ever since his first black and white painting titled Young Pathbreaker on the Battlefield published on the Langfang Daily in 1974, Liu Jin’an has worked painstakingly on art. His works have been selected to attend important national art exhibitions and some of them have been collected by the National Art Museum of China, Shanghai Art Museum and so on. His recent publications include Academic Fine Arts in 30 Years(2009) published by Shandong Fine Arts Press, Painting Scroll of Liu Jin’an (2008) published by Sichuan Fine Arts Press, Experience of Brush and Ink (2006) published by People’s Fine Arts Publishing House, etc. Now he is a member of the Chinese Artists Association as well as Beijing Artists Association. Also he acts as the Vice Chairman of Beijing Chinese Painting Artists Association and committee member of the National Arts Degree in Graduate Education Steering Committee.
