The Oil Painting Department is one of the earliest teaching bases for oil painting teaching in China. Ever since the department’s founding in 1918, it has gone through almost ninety years of roses and thorns and has formed its own academic traditions. The Oil Painting Department has got five studios which are all based on different styles of teachers/artists.
