The Mural Painting Department, Central Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1978. The faculty of the Mural Painting Department has been committed to the revitalization of the traditional Chinese mural painting ever since the day of its foundation. Taking advantage of modern mural painting and public environment art from other countries, it adopts a studio-based system which also has a team of professors and researchers exerting greatest influence on mural painting circle of China.
