"I don't think I'm a 'feminist' as described in books, but I do realize that I need to speak out. As a woman, I wish people to develop empathy with my works."

—Peng Wei

"Peng Wei: Feminine Space" was curated by Wu Hung, an internationally-noted art historian and professor at the University of Chicago. The show brings together nearly 60 works from "Seven Nights", "Hi-Ne-Ni", "Old Tales Retold", "Paragons of Feminine Virtue", and several other series that Peng has created recently. Through the careful layout of the exhibition space, the show aims to bring viewers into the multi-layered, multi-dimensional, and multi-sensory work of contemporary ink that Peng Wei has shaped using artworks that take a range of forms.
