At 15:00 on May 31, 2016, the press conference of Beijing Outstanding Artistic Talent Training Universities Joint Graduation Season 2016 was held at CAFA Art Museum. The Members of Beijing Municipal Education Commission Huang Kan, Party Secretary of CAFA Gao Hong, President of CAFA Fan Di’an, Party Secretary of Beijing Film Academy Hou Guangming, as well as the leaders and honored guests from more than 20 colleges and universities in Beijing attended the press conference. The press conference was hosted by the Assistant to the the President of CAFA Wang Xiaolin.

Directed by Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Outstanding Artistic Talent Training Universities joint Graduation Season 2016 is jointly hosted by Beijing Outstanding Artistic Talent Training Universities Union and the Committee of Art Education Research at Beijing Association of Higher Education. The Joint Graduation Season considered “focusing on the training of outstanding talent, promoting cultural prosperity, practicing the socialist core values” as the theme, to integrate the high-quality resources of Beijing Universities, through graduate exhibitions, forums, seminars, public education and other activities to showcase to all of society the educational outcomes, to build a intercollegiate platform for communication, to facilitate collaborative education, boosting the education of innovation and entrepreneurship, recommending outstanding graduates.

First of all, the Member of Beijing Municipal Education Commission Huang Kan expressed congratulations on the holding of the joint graduation season on behalf of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Then President of CAFA Fan Di’an gave a speech and said that “resource, platform, communication” were the three key words of the purpose of the joint graduation season, and the joint graduation season was in order to make the three better organically integrated. The graduation achievements of the universities and colleges of art in Beijing were new, and they embodied the teaching tradition, culture, ideals and professional development direction of all the faculties. Meanwhile, the joint graduation season would also play an important role in the improving of the urban art consciousness and public aesthetic education, so it was certain that the joint graduation season would be a broad communication platform to connect the universities and colleges of art, society and the public. After that,Party Secretary of Beijing Film Academy Hou Guangming gave a speech on behalf of the universities and colleges that participated in the Beijing Universities Union Graduation Season.

After the press conference, the journalist of CAFA ART INFO interviewed the Assistant to the President of CAFA Wang Xiaolin on the topic of how did CAFA arrange their own graduation season to reflect the individualism of the academy, after the Universities Union Graduation Season was established. Wang Xiaolin said that: Beijing Universities Union of graduation season built an exchange platform between society and the universities, while breaking the existing barriers between universities, and it was certain that this kind of exchange also promoted the universities to focus on their own teaching quality. In the future, the Graduation Season would be further linked to the Beijing Design Week and other projects, so that the results of the Graduation Season could be spread more internationally. In addition, Wang Xiaolin also noted that the current “CAFA Graduation Season” had formed its own brand, which contained the value pursuit and spirit of the academy namely “seeking to carry it out to its breadth and greatness, so as to omit none of the more exquisite and minute points which it embraces” penetrating in various cultural activities.

This joint graduation season involves a total of 23 colleges and universities in Beijing, covering the major urban areas such as Haidian, Chaoyang, Xicheng, Dongcheng, Fengtai and Daxing. The graduation season started when the press conference was held on May 31, raising the curtain of the grand exchange show of the graduates from Beijing’s universities, continuously launching four thematic events including the “Art Map” tour, Graduation Season Open Day, Alliance Forums and the Joint Works Exhibitions of Outstanding Graduates, at the same time it opened the intercollegiate graduation season buses, to guide the teachers and students to visit the “Art Map” for free.
