On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Feng Fasi's birth and the 5th anniversary of his death, National Art Museum of China holds this exhibition to commemorate Feng Fasi’s uncommon life of art by upholding the ideal of “art for life”.

Feng Fasi has learnt from Xu Beihong and his works, with high basic skill in shaping the essence of life and imprint of time. The exhibition, which focuses on two major periods of Feng Fasi’s artistic career-drama team of anti-Japanese war in 1940s and Maximoff oil painting training class in 1950s, themed by the rare works that show the rear area in the anti-Japanese war in 1940s and realism creation under Soviet Union’s teaching approach in 1950s. The show also presents around 100 pieces of precious rough sketch for his classic work Heroic Death of Liu Hulan as well as supporting historical documents, which highlights the strong artistic feelings of Feng Fasi as an older generation oil painting artist.
