Planned by Ms. Yue Jieqiong, “Earth ? Journey— Works by Li Zhanghui” was unveiled at the Permanence Gallery in 798 art district, the exhibition showcases 32 key works created by artist Li Zhanghui during the last decade, and it will continue to June 30, 2014.

Yue Jieqiong writes in the preface that, Li Zhanghui’s work seems to contain a quiet energy, hoping to express the “Permanent timeliness of the central plains of China”, the theme of the screen is more like the quietness, calmness, silence of a “speechless big beauty”. Rather than a reverence to human civilization, it directly reveres the timeliness. Li Zhanghui is infatuated with homemade pigments, and he accurately uses dyeing to make his landscape painting show the brightness of divinity, applying exquisite a tempera technique to successfully depict the timeliness for the sublimation of the beauty of our mental state. “Earth?Journey” exhibition reflects the artist’s deep feeling of the central plains of China as he has lived for a long time in Luoyang.

About the Artist

Li Zhanghui was born in Luoyang City of Henan Province in 1963, and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Henan University in 1986. He became a visiting scholar of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. Currently he is a member of China Artists Association, Director and Professor of Art Educational Center of Luoyang Normal College.
