It is the first solo exhibition by Zhao Zhengrong in Beijing, and art critic, curator Wang Chunchen serves as the curator.

Zhao Zhengrong graduated from China Academy of Arts in 1998, he studied further in the Department of Oil Painting, CAFA and received a master’s degree, after graduation he went south to teach in the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, experiencing several changes during his artistic tour, he gradually showcased his artistic language of expression on contemporary life. Zhao’s paintings shift from realism to abstract, from dark cloudy abstraction to drawing without any artistic composition. He constantly breaks the rules, in order to obtain a moment to make the heart tremble. His paintings are not the pursuit of small picture, nor a delicate screen, but enlarge his feelings, allowing every moment and every picture turn into the window of dialogue, reflection of his helplessness when he is trapped in time and suffering.

The exhibition is entitled “Miracle”, mainly exhibits the “Simple Life” series created before 2010 as well as the works in oil painting themed on the city in the last three years. At the opening ceremony, Zhao Zhengrong interpreted his works as following: Miracle meaning that it was impossible to imagine some things, which is like life, without a moment of reservation, and does not know what will happen in the following moment? Because of this, life consists of numerous miracles, and I express the feelings of the unknown, miracles are in the picture. Yu Ding reviewed his works: “Zhao Zhengrong fights against visual clarity, and strives to reverse the spiritual veil, trying to achieve spiritual clarity, and pass it onto the viewers”.

The exhibition will last until December 30.
