As an artist who was born in 1970s. Wang Yaqiang’s creations bear the imprint of pop culture and comics: concise lines, evenly colored characters and fancy elements of clothes are both recollections of the artist and reflections of the times.

The “Superfluous Things” project features a series of oil paintings of the artist, changing media but creative consciousness still projected on the speculations between humans and things, humans and society, psychological, emotional and physical qualities and Nature.

This project will present the new work by Yang Xinguang, a series of work of abstract painting he printed on paper with a whip dipping ink. These works are in a large size and endowed with irresistible tension, like all ink and wash paintings or cursive calligraphy in large sizes, they bring a visual shock to the audience standing in front of them. Also, the details of the ink whip imprints arouse the imagination of the creative process and focus on the material.
