Gun·Rose-Han Ke Works Exhibition was inaugurated in the Permanence Gallery in the 798 Art Zone on November 23, 2013. The exhibition features works spanning more than five decades, in addition to the works of a familiar military subject is the creation of works of landscape and flowers which he began to explore in the 1980s.

Han Ke was formerly known as Han Xuechun, born in Zhao-an County in Fujian Province in 1929. He was admitted to the national Beiping Art School in 1947, under the tutelage of Xu Beihong, Wu Zuoren, Dong Xiwen, etc. He participated in the China People’s Liberation Army in 1949, and went south along with the army. When the Korean War broke out in 1950, he went to Korea with the China People’s Volunteer Army, and served as a propagandist and journalist during that period, he drew a lot of sketches as well as finished some small artworks. He was ordered to return to China in 1956 and began a professional creative career. He visited the frontline in Fujian, Yunnan border, islands in the South China Sea and the old revolutionary base, experiencing life, absorbing the original creative materials from life, creating a large number of works that reflect the theme of war and military action and spent his spare time recording the local lives and human spirit with his brush.

Han Ke retired in 1983 and began working on the creation of landscape painting, he launched many solo exhibitions overseas, won praise from all walks of life. He has created a large number of paintings of flowers since 1990. Following the successful solo exhibition “The Road to the Front Line”, launched by the Permanence Gallery, a new look is presented in front of the spectators, this exhibition will continue to December 12, 2013.
