The exhibition Truths I Don't Tell explores the conception of identity by focusing on life stories, in the form of portraits and videos, which display the lavishness that exists in the differences of people's lives. Photographing over 500 individuals that Mercedes Barros met in Rio de Janeiro, the artist features compelling images that give an inside on Brazilian citizens. Furthermore, she collected engaging testimonies of people that were willing to give a glimpse on their identity through sharing their reality and life trajectory. The exhibition are not supposed to answer questions about identity, it shares individual life stories through which people affirm their identities.
