Ofer Lellouche (b.1947) is a highly acclaimed artist who lives and works in Tel Aviv and Paris. His oeuvre encompasses paintings, sculpture, and etchings that have been exhibited at leading museums and galleries in Israel and around the world, including the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Zemack Gallery in Tel Aviv, the Albertina Museum in Vienna, and the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon.

For the past few years, Lellouche has been exploring the theme of the atelier, a theme that has captivated great masters, such as Courbet and Picasso, throughout the history of art. Lellouche began by drawing and painting his figurative sculptures exactly as they were positioned in his studio, but soon felt the need to organize the sculptures into various constellations that he then sketched and painted onto large canvases. His ongoing study of the atelier theme led him to create a small-scale model of his studio and the sculptures it contains; the model was subsequently captured in a series of evocative photographs. Upon being invited to display a solo exhibition at the CAFA Art Museum of Beijing, Lellouche decided to continue engaging with the atelier theme in China, far from his familiar surroundings and culture. The encounter between Lellouche and China led to the creation of The Atelier, a series of five towering bronze sculptures based on the model studio. This powerful series, conceived specifically for the CAFA Art Museum and never before displayed to the public, is showcased in the exhibition alongside more than 100 small- and large-scale works, including bronze and wood sculptures, oil paintings, pencil and ink sketches, etchings, wood cuts, and photography.
