On the evening of July 18th, 2012, the awarding ceremony for the Boat of 2012 “Aussino Cup” Annual Nomination Exhibition for the Students of Contemporary Art Academies was held at the Today Art Museum. Prize winners selected from the finalists of 133 young artists were announced, among which Zhang Yifan, a postgraduate from the Central Academy of Fine Arts won the Special Award with the series named Naked Truth. Another 10 graduates from the Central Academy of Fine Arts also won the Artist Named Award, Silver Award, Bronze Award and Excellence Award. Thus, the Central Academy of Fine Arts has become the biggest winner among all the art academies at this awarding ceremony.

Artist Named Award winners include: He Yingjie( the Central Academy of Fine Arts) won Gu Wenda Award with “Sketch on Paper”; Gao Rongguo( the Central Academy of Fine Arts) won Liu Yi Award with “Twin”; Zhong Ping( Beijing Normal University) won Wang Guangyi Award through “The Ruminant of Cows”; Jiang Peiyuan ( Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London) won the Chris Wainwright Award with “I do not want to eat pizza anymore!”; Yao Hao( Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts) won Zhu Wei Award with “Wandering”. In addition to this, there were 3 Gold Awards, 6 Silver Awards, 12 Bronze Awards together with 17 Excellence Awards announced. The Best Curatorial Team Award was obtained by the team that composed of Liu Yang, Liu Hui and Zhang Xueting with the unit “This Shore”.

Following a three month period for entries, The Boat of 2012 “Aussino Cup” received a total of over 10,000 pieces of works by more than 3,000 students from over 300 art academies. The finalists have been exhibited at the Today Art Museum since July 13th. After the exhibition opens, Reviewers nominate awards to works by open voting. The Review Committee determines the works winning awards by comprehensively considering votes and scores. The exhibition will last until July 29th at Layer 1 of Hall 1, Layer 1 of Hall 2, Layer 1 and 2 of Hall 3, Today Art Museum. The audience can personally visit the museum or click the links of the Digital Art Museum to have a 360 panoramic view of this exhibition through virtual reality technology. Hopefully, it will bring more attention to the art students who may create the future or provide more possibility for the future of Chinese contemporary art.
