“Rhythm”--the eighth edition of the Calendar of Contemporary Printmaking Exhibition for 2012 is announced by Red Gate Gallery to display since November 26th, 2011. As part of Red Gate’s aim to have strong roots in the community, director and founder Brian Wallace together with artist and educator Zhou Jirong initiated the charity print exhibition from 2004. This fundraising exhibition is organized to benefit Shepherd’s Field, Children’s Village, an orphanage in Lanfang that looks after special needs children.

For the 2012 calendar, seven distinct and distinguished artists have each created an original print towards this worthy cause. The participating artists include He Kun, Kong Guoqiao, Lv Peng, Su Xinping, Xu Baozhong, Zhang Guanghui and Zhou Jirong. The calendar set offers seven original works that can be framed individually. This special collection is limited to 50 sets and each edition is priced at 5,888 RMB
The opening reception will take place on Saturday, 26 November from 3 – 5 pm at the Watchtower. The exhibition will run till 11 December but the sale of the calendar sets will continue after the exhibition. Some editions from past years are also available.
